The LRCG Team

 We are currently a private practice with a clinical social worker and two counsellors . At LRCG our goal is to continue to expand our Team and offer our clients an array of counselling styles and approaches through the addition of future counsellors to the LRCG team. We believe in supporting our clients to cultivate their lives to create balance and restoration.

Valerie Morrison BSW RSW

Valerie is the owner and founder of Life Restoration Counselling Group.

Valerie attended Ryerson University where she received her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) with a Minor in Psychology. Valerie is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). Valerie has experience working for the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH), LOFT (Leap of Faith Together), Durham Children’s Aid Society, York Region Children’s and more recently Peel Children’s Aid Society. Valerie has over 9 years of experience working as a child protection worker and case manager, as well as many years of experience as an individual, couples and family counsellor.  Through working at multiple social service agencies, Valerie has engaged with adults with severe mental health issues and addictions, families in crisis, couples facing divorce and separation, victims of abuse, youth involved in and at risk of prostitution, as well as facilitated family group conferences. Valerie encourages and supports individuals, couples and families to focus on their own strengths and utilizes a solution-focused approach in order to support positive change. 

Paul Lucas, MACA

Paul has completed a program in professional counselling. He also has a certificate in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and is a certified counsellor for Prepare-Enrich for Couples. Paul is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and other therapies including Narrative, Gestalt and Person-Centred. Paul loves working with teens, individuals and all couples including premarital couples and newly married couples. He draws on his own experiences and education to empower his clients to find the strength they need to make the tough changes by being goal- focused and using sensitive humor. Paul has worked for several years working one-on-one with preteen and teen boys with ADHD, ODD and CD and other behaviour-challenging issues. He has also worked with family and school members to assist kids in their overall care. Since 2013 Paul has worked in private practice working with individuals with anxiety, depression and self-esteem. He has also been working with couples to help with communication, conflict resolution, controlled separation, decision making and marriage preparation.

Paul has two (2) office locations where he provides counselling to his clients. Paul's offices are located in Hamilton and Burlington.


Karen Pitt, MA, MDiv, RP

Karen is a registered psychotherapist (RP) in Ontario with the College of Psychotherapist in Ontario (CRPO) and was a accredited psychotherapist in England with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She has a Masters of Arts in Transpersonal Child, Adolescent and Family Therapy, a Diploma in Sandplay Therapy, and a certificate in Integrative Psychotherapy. Trained in all the various models of talk therapy, she is equipped to work in many areas of emotional and psychological need. Karen has worked in a number of settings, providing the opportunity to use her training and supporting people in all aspects of the need, individually, couples and families as well as group work. Working in the community services, educational and other social services avenues, Karen has extensive experience enabling people to overcome the pain, sorrow and confusion of their past and present, and move in directions of health and hope. She is able to provide specific support in relationship issues, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, anxiety, phobias and mental health disorders. In addition, she is able of offer counselling support for those experiencing bullying and harassment(past or present), violence and abuse, as well as well as work related stress and mediation.
